Markaaz
Defining the Visual Language of Business Trust
Markaaz is a global platform designed to close the trust gap between small businesses and big enterprises. As VP of Brand, I lead the intersection of Product and Brand design, transforming massive datasets into intuitive, market-ready experiences. My mission is to ensure that every touchpoint—from the core platform UI to our global marketing presence—reinforces our position as the definitive source of truth for business data.
Strategic Mandates
•Category Creation: Establish Markaaz as the leader in "Business Identity and Trust" through a sophisticated, authoritative visual identity.
•Product-Brand Synergy: Bridge the gap between the complex data-heavy platform and the outward-facing brand story to ensure a seamless user journey.
•Scalable Design Systems: Architect a unified design language that allows our product and marketing teams to ship updates with speed and visual consistency.
•Global Authority: Develop a media and content strategy that positions our leadership as thought leaders in the fintech and data space.
Upon joining Markaaz, I prioritized revamping the brand's visual identity to align with its ambitious goals. This began with a comprehensive audit of the existing branding, evaluating its strengths and uncovering areas needing refinement. From this analysis, we established a vision to modernize the brand while preserving its core essence. A key aspect of this transformation was the development of a new logo, which better reflected Markaaz’s evolution and market positioning. The logo was designed to be clean, distinctive, and versatile, making it easier to use across different media while enhancing brand recognition. Alongside the new logo, we refined the color palette, selected modern yet approachable typography, and redesigned key graphic elements to convey sophistication and trust. These updates not only appealed to the target audience but also differentiated Markaaz in a competitive landscape. The result was a revitalized brand that resonated deeply with stakeholders, reinforcing Markaaz’s position as a leader in global business identity.
Design System
To ensure consistency and scalability, we developed a comprehensive design system that built upon the revamped branding. This design system served as a cohesive framework, outlining standards for typography, color usage, iconography, and layout principles. It provided detailed guidelines for implementing the brand across platforms, from digital interfaces to marketing materials. The system introduced modular components, enabling the design team to work more efficiently while maintaining a polished and unified aesthetic. By centralizing these guidelines, we empowered cross-functional teams to create cohesive and on-brand experiences, enhancing Markaaz’s credibility and reinforcing trust at every customer touchpoint.
Enterprise Portal
The Markaaz Enterprise Portal is the engine for our largest institutional partners. As VP of Brand, I architected a high-density UI designed to handle massive volumes of global data without sacrificing clarity or speed. This is where the Markaaz "Source of Truth" becomes an operational powerhouse for risk, compliance, and supply chain management.

The Strategy: Precision at Scale
Designing for enterprise requires a shift from "emotional engagement" to "operational efficiency." The portal was built to help users make multi-million dollar decisions with absolute confidence.
•Hierarchical Data Architecture: I led the design of a modular dashboard that allows users to toggle between high-level "portfolio health" views and granular, deep-dive business verifications in a single click.
•Complex Data Visualization: We transformed fragmented data sets—including credit scores, legal filings, and ESG metrics—into intuitive visual indicators that allow for rapid risk assessment.
•Systemic Reliability: The design language here reflects the "Institutional Trust" of the brand—using a clinical, high-contrast palette and a rigorous grid system that conveys stability and technical authority.

The Impact: Operational Excellence
By prioritizing a "logic-first" design philosophy, the Enterprise Portal has become a definitive tool for our partners' growth:
•Accelerated Due Diligence: Reduced the time required for business verification and onboarding by streamlining the audit trail and document review process.
•Global Visibility: Enabled enterprises to monitor thousands of vendors across international borders through a unified, "single-pane-of-glass" interface.
•Market Authority: Established the Markaaz Enterprise Suite as the gold standard for business identity, supporting our largest global partnership acquisitions.
Small Business Dashboard App
For small business owners, trust doesn't happen behind a desk—it happens in the field. I led the strategy to condense the power of the Markaaz "Source of Truth" into a high-performance mobile experience, ensuring that business identity management and risk monitoring are accessible anytime, anywhere.

The Strategy: Radical Simplification
The challenge was to take high-density enterprise data and translate it into a mobile-first interface that remains intuitive without losing its "institutional" authority.
•Prioritizing Action: I architected the UX to surface the most critical data points—credit health, verification status, and risk alerts—at the top level, allowing for "glanceable" decision-making.
•Frictionless Onboarding: Re-engineered the business claim process for mobile, utilizing native features to simplify document uploads and identity verification, significantly reducing user drop-off.
•Emotional Security: Used a clean, high-contrast UI and real-time feedback loops to reassure users that their sensitive data is secure and their business status is always up to date.

The Impact: Empowering the SMB
By moving the Markaaz dashboard to mobile, we didn't just change the screen size; we changed the relationship between the user and their data:
•Higher Engagement: Users shifted from "monthly check-ins" to "weekly monitoring," increasing the stickiness of the platform.
•Accelerated Growth: The mobile app became a primary driver for our "Directory" growth, as business owners could claim and verify their identities in minutes.
•Brand Accessibility: It humanized the Markaaz brand, moving us from a "big data company" to a "partner in the business owner’s pocket."
Marketing Website and Digital Presence
The Markaaz marketing website is more than a digital storefront—it is a critical tool for global authority. As VP of Brand, I led the strategy and design of a web experience that speaks to two distinct, high-stakes audiences: the ambitious small business owner and the risk-averse enterprise executive.

The Challenge: Demystifying Complexity
Business data and verification can be abstract and intimidating. The primary goal was to bridge the "Trust Gap" by creating a visual narrative that makes our massive datasets feel tangible, secure, and accessible.

Strategic Execution
•Audience-Centric Information Architecture: I architected a dual-funnel experience that allows SMBs to find tools for growth while simultaneously providing Enterprise partners with the technical depth and compliance assurance they require.
•Narrative-Driven Design: Leveraged custom 3D assets and motion design to illustrate the "flow of trust" through the Markaaz ecosystem, increasing time-on-site and brand recall.
•Agile Content Scaling: Built a modular design system within our CMS, empowering marketing teams to launch global campaigns and landing pages with 30% faster turnaround while maintaining 100% brand consistency.

The Impact: Quantifiable Authority
By treating the marketing site as a product in its own right, we achieved significant gains in our market positioning:
•Increased Acquisition: Drove a measurable uptick in lead generation through optimized, friction-less conversion paths.
•Global Recognition: Established Markaaz as a thought leader in the Fintech space, supporting our presence at major global summits and in top-tier media outlets.
•Institutional Trust: Developed a high-fidelity aesthetic that reflects our role as the definitive "Source of Truth" for business identity.
Reflection
Leading the UX design team at Markaaz was an unparalleled journey of growth, innovation, and collaboration. It allowed me to immerse myself in strategic thinking, where every design decision was guided by the company’s vision of empowering small businesses through data. This experience sharpened my ability to develop long-term strategies that not only met immediate needs but also aligned with Markaaz’s broader goals for scalability and market impact.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this role was the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, marketing, and leadership. This required me to hone my communication skills, actively listen to diverse perspectives, and integrate feedback into the design process. By fostering a culture of collaboration, I was able to bridge the gap between different disciplines and create solutions that were not only user-centric but also aligned with technical feasibility and business objectives.
The challenges we faced—whether it was designing for complex data-driven tools like the enterprise portal or creating visually engaging marketing materials—pushed me to find creative solutions that balanced functionality with aesthetics. I learned to advocate for the value of design as a strategic asset, demonstrating how thoughtful design can drive user engagement, brand trust, and business growth.
This role also deepened my understanding of how design impacts user experience across all touchpoints, from the first interaction on a marketing website to the daily use of a dashboard or mobile app. It underscored the importance of consistency in visual identity, user interface, and messaging to build a seamless and trustworthy brand experience.
My tenure at Markaaz not only contributed to the company’s growth but also enriched my skills as a leader and designer, equipping me with a versatile toolkit for tackling complex challenges and driving innovation in any environment.
